YOU are your brand.

Fresh off an inspiring call with Artist Farm entrepreneur Ben Coe,  something really stood out for me.  He calls it, “The business of You.”

I call it , “The business of our brand.”  I’ve always known we are the brand, but until our conversation, I didn’t quite get how  my personal point of view and artistic expression integrated seamlessly with my business, Bella Cucina. Yes, I know that Bella Cucina is and has always been a vehicle for creating and expressing my artistic side, but how does that fit in with my “other life”.  The artist who writes and draws ensos and wants to create art installations? I’ve been feeling a bit schizophrenic about having to separate the two, and at the same time build a bridge between the two.

I had already been brainstorming on some ideas, like a personal home page, but  still felt unsettled as to how I could keep them separate without separating myself.

The answer finally became crystal clear. There is no separation at all.  I am the brand. The brand doesn’t start with Bella Cucina. It starts with me.  Bella Cucina is one of my brand extensions. This site is one.  My art is another.  As I start to create what looks like  non-Bella Cucina ideas + cool stuff I hope people will pay me for, I’ll have a place to show up and speak and share with others {assuming anyone shows up !}

For me, it’s all about the practice. And creation. And keeping myself interested in the world in different ways from various points of view. Mostly, I discover more about who I am and what I love.  And that becomes what I want to share with world.

As I venture onto this new path, I sure hope that there will be an audience who will find me {and I them} and who wants to hear what I have to say or enjoy the work I do. So, for now, I’m an audience of one.  If you arrive, please let me know. I’d love to invite you in and have a conversation.

This post seems like a good place start.
